About Opticnetworks

Opticnetworks was established in 2013 to serve a niche market in the South African telecommunications sector. We provide mainly services as opposed to commodities in this sector, and have steadily refined our offers in order to remain specialised. Over the years, Opticnetworks has become known for its expertise in Internet access provisioning, security, Usenet services, and network infrastructure. Our extensive and diverse client base, most of which have been acquired by word of mouth, all have one thing in common: a requirement for highly reliable internet services.

Core Networking Center

Our operation is divided into three core networking centers with its administrative offices in Panorama, Western Cape. Our core networking centers operates inside the Teraco Datacenters situated in Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg.

Opticnetworks operates mission critical services on independent servers located on completely isolated, and securely firewalled networks on two different continents (South Africa and The Netherlands). This ensures that even in the most extreme cases where South Africa's internet becomes invisible to the rest of the world, our critical services will remain operational until full network restoration.

Broadband customers and network infrastructure are monitored 24x7x365 and protected by advanced firewalls blocking common nuisance traffic commonly associated to Distributed Denial of Services (DDoS) attacks. Not only to protect our infrastructure and customers, but to ensure quality, reliable, internet services.
